Set Yourself up for Success in 2022 With This Business Planning Process

In this post, I’m breaking down how you can plan for 2022 to make it your MOST successful and LEAST stressful year yet! There are some distinct questions you should ask yourself in order to plan effectively, which can help you recognize opportunities and gain clarity on your year ahead.

How You’ll Spend Your Time in 2022

The first thing you need to ask yourself is, “How do I want to spend my time in 2022?” Be REALLY honest with yourself as you answer this question.  What will make you HAPPY? How can you achieve the work-life balance that you crave?

Be thoughtful about the answer you give, and also be specific. This will set you up for spending the year in a way that makes sense not only for your business, but for your life.

This is where you can create a comprehensive breakdown of how time will be spent. For instance, how many hours do you want to spend working? How much time do you want to put into different things – like sales calls, launch development, marketing, and so on. This is the time to map that out!

Zeroing In on the Programs You’ll Offer

Another important part of this planning process is figuring out what you’re going to offer in 2022.  You want to figure out what your signature offer will be – this is your most important offer. Focus on that first, as it’ll take the most of your time and effort.

From there, you can figure out more about your offerings to bring clients in the door and keep them there. Ask yourself the following questions:

  • How many rounds of your programs will you do a year?
  • How many live launches will you have?
  • What will the open and close dates be for your offers?
  • What about evergreen programs?
  • Will you introduce a continuation program to keep clients on board with you?
  • How can you create a “first step” to introduce clients to your signature offer?

Figuring Out Pricing and Timing 

You should also work to decipher the prices for each program – how much will you charge for each offering you have?

This also helps you better predict your income for 2022. You can lay out how many students you expect to have for each program, what price you’re charging for each, and have an approximate calculation from there. 

Finally, work through the timing of each launch. You’ll want to be thoughtful around the seasons and really zero in on when your ideal clients will be most ready to take advantage of your offers. Maybe it’s in the beginning of the year, maybe it’s during back-to-school time, or maybe it’s somewhere in between. Understanding that presents you with the ability to make the most out of every launch and harness the energy of your audience.

Planning Ahead Helps You Realize Your Opportunities: The Bottom Line

Understanding the year ahead will give you clarity and allow you to seize the opportunities in front of you. Getting that bird’s eye view, looking at the entire year holistically, and having a solid plan in place will also cut down on stress and wasted time.

Life comes at us quick, so be proactive and get your priorities in line before 2022 gets underway! Whether you create a more general map of the year or really get into the nitty gritty details, I guarantee you’ll be glad you invested the time to set yourself up for success.
