There is a strong power of purpose when it comes to managing our minds and thoughts. This week on the #PrettyAwkward Entrepreneur Podcast, I’m chatting with Keisha Frazier who is an intuitive mindset and business coach. We are diving into the power behind subconscious thoughts and the difference between our conscious vs. subconscious mind.
But before we dive on in, let me introduce myself. Keisha graduated from Stanford in 2010 and started working at Facebook immediately. She found herself on the corporate path her parents would’ve been proud of but something felt off. Keisha knew there had to be something more to life, she decided to leave and got into fitness. Keisha started working at a gym, and continued this for about six years and worked her way up. Ultimately, she found herself again feeling like something was missing. At that point, Keisha started her own business. She had always wanted to start her own business, she knew she couldn’t work for someone else and needed to build her own dream.
Keisha began her own health coaching business and continued for about a year and a half, something still felt off. Once she was able to unlock the key of her subconscious mind and clear those deeply ingrained beliefs that held her back, it was a total shift. She realized the power of influencing her subconscious mind was within one of my own programs. She was prepping for a launch and started a sleep meditation, fell asleep on accident, and noticed the next day a subtle shift in how she was thinking about her launch. Keisha googled this to understand how sleep meditation worked and realized right before you fall asleep, you’re in a specific brain wave state where your subconscious mind can be more easily influenced. After this realization, Keisha knew she needed to learn more about her subconscious mind.
This podcast was created with YOU in mind. I can’t wait to hear about what you learn, what makes you laugh, and what tips allow you to grow your business and brand as your authentic self.
Stay #prettyawkward.
The CEO sets the vision and the goal, we all understand consciously what we want. Subconsciously, something doesn’t believe you can have it, or that you’re not worthy of achieving those goals you set. Subconsciously you store everything that’s ever happened to you and you are most impressionable from ages of 0-7. A lot of things you were told or witnessed are influencing thoughts and behaviors now. 95% of your thoughts, emotions, and actions blend and are caused by your subconscious mind.
The next step is finding a way to release these subconscious beliefs, there’s a lot of ways. NLP (Neuro-linguistic programming) is quick and accessible to most people, you don’t have to be spiritual to do NLP. You can also do spiritual tools like breathwork as well. You want to figure out what healing modality resonates the most with you. Don’t be afraid to experiment, and don’t put yourself in a box. Your life is on a specific track because of the programming you have already accumulated in your life when you start to unlearn that, it’s a process. You can’t just snap your fingers, it will be one step at a time.
If you try to skip steps and rush the process, you will miss out on all the lessons you are supposed to be teaching other people. Everything Keisha has learned and gone through has inspired her to be passionate and teach these lessons to other people. Knowing this will allow you to get through those tough moments. We often try to rush through pain and those uncomfortable moments, we have to learn to enjoy the journey instead of the results. There’s no point in the results if you don’t like how you got there through the journey.
As an entrepreneur, we got out of the 9-5 rat race to enjoy our days and we find ourselves falling back into that sometimes because we don’t feel aligned with what we’re doing. Keisha found great results for her niche and what she was doing previous to being an intuitive mindset and business coach but something was still missing. If you know in your gut there’s something off although you’re making progress, listen to your gut. There is such a shift in how you show up and the energy you radiate when you tap into who you are truly meant to be and remain patient.
There are a couple of books on NLP you can read to start learning more about it, one of them is called The Power of Your Subconscious Mind, another one Keisha recommends is called Introduction to NLP. Another option is attending an introductory brief course to NLP. Keisha did a 3-day introduction course called Create Your Life. Another big tip when it comes to starting with NLP is just to simply do your own research, find someone who will let you test out an exercise, and experience NLP. One of Keisha’s recent clients she has been working with was resistant to the process, and through the process of NLP, she has released limiting beliefs she’s been holding onto and fear of failure. Now, she puts herself out there more and makes efforts to reach out to people. The before and after in her transformation has been amazing.
Techniques you practice won’t be this huge immediate change, it’s a small shift day by day. When you do one exercise and heal one thing, you feel so much better. Even though it’s not overnight, that one exercise you do will bring so much lightness and make you feel lifted. Start with this one step, get results, and get better within time. Fear of rejection is a common issue Keisha also sees with the clients, especially the fear of people not signing up with launches. Once you can clear that, you can start showing up and seeing everything as an opportunity instead of an obstacle.

Connect, grow, and scale your business to 6-Figures. Awkwardly.
When it comes to showing up as the best version of you and knowing whole-heartedly the power of purpose within you, we must tap into our subconscious minds. Keisha is a fantastic example of how you could be progressing in your endeavors, but feeling like something is still off. I’m so glad Keisha was able to share her story and bring more awareness to how we can all learn to manage our minds and tap into those subconscious thoughts that control our actions whether we realize it or not.
And as always, stay safe, stay healthy, and stay #PrettyAwkward!
