Salesperson to Sales Expert: Stepping Into Success as an Online Business Owner with Karrie Brady
In this post, I’m dishing on my conversation with Karrie Brady. Karrie is not only one of my best friends, but she’s a published author and a sales expert. She has so much knowledge and insight to share, and I’m so glad she sat down with me to chat!
Learn below about how she got into the world of sales and entrepreneurship and all about her new book, Don’t Settle for a Seat.
Karrie’s Business Journey
Karrie dove into the entrepreneur world by accident. When her dad was injured and needed full-time care, she dropped out of college to help out. During that time, she was looking for a way to make extra money to help support her family. She became a personal trainer and then two years later, she began surrounding herself with people who were entrepreneurs.
It was then that she realized she could become an entrepreneur her way – a way that was cut out for her. She began valuing the skill of sales and she started doing sales for others and helping them really skyrocket their businesses.
She’s been in sales-specific coaching and consulting in the businesses of others for about four years. She wanted to write a book that showed others that you don’t have to fit into a box to make being an entrepreneur work for you. You don’t need to settle for a seat – you can join other successful women and start your business.
It’s so inspiring that Karrie embodies the ideas of persistence and becoming an expert in her business. She has shown that it takes time to become an “overnight success” – it’s not really overnight! It takes work, dedication, and time.
About Karrie’s Book
Karrie’s book, Don’t Settle for a Seat, was a huge undertaking! It was born from the idea that people are looking for a way to be different in their delivery – content is everywhere, and she wanted to do something that not everyone else was doing.
She also saw an opportunity to reach a new audience by writing a book – a world of people who haven’t entered the online education space yet. It’s easy to get caught up in the world of Instagram, but there are so many different and creative ways to get your message out there differently, which is exactly what Karrie has done with her book.
Karrie believes that one of the most underrated sales hacks is creativity. It’s important to understand that this is a key to blowing up your sales, and it is hard to teach this. You need to be creative in the way that works for you and your own creative nature.
The biggest takeaway from the book, as explained by Karrie, is that women don’t get into entrepreneurship or are turned off by it because they feel like they don’t fit that world. However, as she talks about in her book, there’s a middle ground in sales that fit the personality and tendencies of many women naturally.
Women can rewrite rules of entrepreneurship and define it as their own, and this book really empowers readers to do just that. It’s super powerful!
The book goes over different feelings and skills that women are naturally and societally taught that they can sharpen in order to zero in on their ability to be an entrepreneur and make sales.
There is a strategy to sales and there is a skill to this that can be evolved over time. But the other side of that coin is that sales requires listening skills, emotional intelligence, and other skills that women innately have. Karrie’s book really talks about meeting in the middle of both of these things.

How Karrie Inspires Her Own Creativity
Karrie discussed with me how she inspires her own creativity. She shared that she’s very intentional with her online consumption. She doesn’t consume sales or industry-related content from others on social media. This is because it can be hard to avoid taking on someone else’s identity or ideas.
While she will read reputable articles on the topic, she doesn’t follow other influencers or thought leaders in the space, ensuring that she keeps her own ideas for creation completely her own. You need to think about creating as you like to consume, which is a tenant of her creativity that she shared during this conversation.
Inspiring Confidence: The Bottom Line
Karrie has received so much positive feedback on her book! Many women have told her how encouraging it has been and that it’s prompted them to get into the world of sales and entrepreneurship. It has inspired power and confidence in the skills of these women.
Karrie has a voice for entrepreneurship for women and is one of the best in sales strategy that I know. This conversation was just the beginning of the topics that we touched upon, and there’s so much more to learn if you follow Karrie or read her book.
