Keep reading to see if you might be an aspirational coach! But no matter what coach approach you take, I think you’ll get a lot out of reading more about this coaching style.
Characteristics of the aspirational coaching approach.
I couldn’t decide on just one name for this approach. I also refer to it as the lifestyle approach, influencer approach, and embodiment approach.
The bottomline is that coaches with this unique coaching method help their clients live out and embody whatever they do. If you take this approach, you’re focused on helping your clients feel and experience their goals and not just strategize to meet them.
The best way I can describe this unique coaching method is the vibe you get from them. Here are a few characteristics of their vibe:
- They are passionate, aligned, and embodied people.
- You can tell just by watching them that they live out what they teach.
- They are fun, crowd-pleasing, and entertaining while being educational.
- You just want to be like them, to do what they do and experience what they experience.
- They’re extremely likeable, and that likeability drives their sales.
Above all, for aspirational coaches, their personality is what sells!
Marketing yourself as an aspirational coach.
Aspirational coaches typically want a lot of creative control of their business. Some things they are usually drawn to include:
- Making their marketing seamless and beautiful.
- Thriving on Instagram and Pinterest since they are visual mediums.
- Beautifully branded graphics
Aspirational coaches usually want their branding to feel kind of luxury. They are hyper focused on how their brand and content makes people feel.

Making your content personal.
Whether or not you take an aspirational approach to coaching, you might think that you have to focus all your content on coaching: pain points, transformation, educational content, etc. But that’s not true.
You are a PERSONAL brand. People want to buy from people! Clients want to know you are a real person they can relate to. So it’s okay to use your platform to talk about and share things other than business.
I’m not kidding: I’ve connected with clients based on our common love of Schitt’s Creek and Harry Potter. Why? Because people value that connection! When you relate to someone, you trust them more. And you get a sense of their personality and what working with them would be like.
So ESPECIALLY if you take an aspirational approach to coaching, make your content personal. I’m not saying share your entire life story, but I am saying that people will really connect with your personal content!
The Aspirational Approach To Coaching: The Bottomline
People are getting bored with the same messages online. That’s why it’s so important to define and embody your unique coaching method. Whatever coaching approach you take, when you are super clear about it and speak from the heart about why you’re passionate about what you do, your sales will take off!
