A client submitted a review and asked me to audit her Instagram. Easy! I’ve done a hundred of these, I have a whole process, it’s fast for me. But right before I did my audit, I got curious. I have Claude loaded with my frameworks, my lessons, my brand voice, a big chunk of my actual philosophies. It’s my business brain, basically.
So I thought: “this should be halfway decent, right? Let me plug her account in and see what it says.”
It gave me maybe two notes I liked. The rest of the advice AI gave turned her into the most generic coach in her industry. The exact advice you’d hand every health coach, every SEO coach, every fitness coach on earth—basic bitch stuff.
I didn’t copy-paste a word of it. Instead, I did my normal audit and sent that. But I also told her about my Claude experiment and we had a good laugh about it. She said, “You should post about this!”
This is a perfect example of the thing nobody wants to say out loud: AI cannot replace the intuitive read of a real human who’s been doing this for years. Even an AI tool deeply trained on my own brain couldn’t do a fraction of what I do.
To get it even a tiny bit closer, I’d have spent more time feeding it context than it takes me to just do the audit myself. That’s time I do NOT have to pour into a project like this.
I want you to sit with this question: Can you prove—without a shadow of a doubt—why your ideal client needs you above AI? Why the thing you do cannot be replicated with a robot? Because if you can’t explain that clearly, your clients will default to AI, or to whatever’s cheaper. (It’s just human nature.)
The thing that proves it, the thing that makes you the undeniable, go-to coach is your framework. I’m going to walk you through three exercises to help you find yours.
Someone comes to you and says, “I need help with X.” Things like:
Before you go into the test part, I want you to get clear on what X is for you. What do people come to you for help with?
Got it? Great! Let’s keep going.
Set a stop watch and answer the following question out loud. You may even want to record a voice memo or video for yourself. Say whatever comes to you naturally and then stop the clock.
The question I want you to answer is: “How do you help clients with X?”
Once you’re done giving your answer, come back to look at these two things…
First, how long did it take you to answer the question? Under 30 seconds? Amazing, you’re closer than you thought.
Second, listen back and ask: Am I using jargon only people in my industry would understand? You want your answer to be simple and to-the-point because that’s what I need to know.
Your third gut-check is: Does what I just said sound like something anyone in my field could have said? If yes, get clear on which piece of what you do is the reason your clients get results. What’s the part that if someone skips it, things get messed up?
If AI were selling my TDE program, it’d say, “we’ll find your uniqueness, put it into content, and sell it.” Cool, but what does “find your uniqueness” even mean? When I explain my process, I explain the phases of my framework so it makes sense to people—AI doesn’t do that.
If you’re a great coach who cannot for the life of you explain what you do in under 5 paragraphs, that’s very likely why your sales have stalled. This 90-minute workshop fixes that!
You’ll actually map out your 3-to-5 phase framework and get GPT distiller that turns your framework into content ideas and named tools you can start marketing.
Every coach has those moments where your clients want to dip out or give up. And you—the human coach—reckognize that and are the reason they don’t. That’s something AI isn’t able to catch and certainly can’t help a client navigate.
A lot of my health-coaching clients’ clients hit a weight-loss plateau. AI will not coach someone through that plateau, but you will. How you do that shows your approach, and your approach is what makes someone go, “yes, that feels right to me. I want to work with her!”
I have a client who uses Marco Polo with her people, and her retention is wild. Not because Marco Polo is special (plenty of people use it), but because of how she uses it. She’s in their face daily: “Yo, did you get your steps in? Did you drink your water?” I’m not letting you hide, I’m here. Her clients feel held, loved, and they feel that accountability. That’s not even a phase in her process, but it’s part of her approach. And it’s irreplaceable.
Where do your clients get stuck or want to fall off? What do you do (already) that brings them back into the work?
I’m gonna get vulnerable, because it’s the clearest proof I can give you.
My husband and I have been in some form of relationship coaching since 2019. It’s the reason we’re here, that we have our twin boys, and why we’re still going strong.
Our journey hasn’t been smooth. CliffsNotes: we separated for six months in 2020, got back together, worked through it, then went through the ringer—we lost my husband’s dad, then we lost my dad, had a miscarriage, and finally got pregnant and had our boys.
Life lifed hard. And we had coaching and support most of the way through. But we stopped after the boys were born. About two years and we’ve had zero coaching.
We know the tools (we probably know enough we could build a course on how to be in a good relationship, but we never would; that’d be stealing our coaches’ work—shout out to our relationship coaches, James and Angela!). We knew we wouldn’t learn anything new by going back, but we went back anyway.
Now we’re rocking again and way more connected! They didn’t teach us anything wildly new and we knew they wouldn’t. But no amount of ChatGPTing was going to fix our marriage. We needed accountability from humans we trust. We needed to fork over the money and say, out loud, “this is a priority, because we are paying for it.” Where your money goes is where your priorities actually are.
How many people know exactly what they should do and still don’t do it? Something moves when money changes hands. Not for everyone, but for most they finally do the thing they should’ve been doing all along.
That’s what a human in your corner is for. Something AI will never be able to do.
Now you’ve got the before: a simply-stated result, no jargon, under 30 seconds. You also have the middle: your process, your how, the nuanced human part. The third and final piece is the after: the domino.
What does the result lead to? For us and our marriage, the surface win is “we’re more connected.” But the domino is that we’re modeling a good relationship for our boys. That domino is enormous! Way bigger than the thing you’d put on a sales page. This matters most if your work is of the mindset or life-coaching variety, where the deeper payoff is the actual selling point.
Then make a post titled “how my coaching is different than just going to AI for [your topic].” Pin it and continue to repeat it.
People are running to AI, but if you can confidently say why your nuanced approach beats AI and everyone else they’ve already tried—you give them the confidence to take a chance on you. Most of them have tried to solve this before, free or paid, and it didn’t stick. They need to hear what’s different about how YOU do it.
AI is a legitimate competitor now, in addition to every other coach in your space. The clearest way to stand above all of them is a framework you can explain in 1 sentence, that’s backed by a proven process, and tied to a domino that moves things forward.
That’s exactly what we build in the Framework Workshop!
By the end, you’ll have your 3-to-5 phases mapped, the language to describe each one (I call them mini transformations), and get a GPT distiller that turns your framework into content ideas and named tools you can start marketing.
